Abuja — The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has faulted the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over its handling of the crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), warning that missteps could undermine Nigeria’s electoral stability.
IPAC cautioned against what it described as premature decisions, stressing that improper handling of internal party disputes could weaken confidence in the electoral system ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The council urged INEC to adhere strictly to legal provisions and maintain neutrality, noting that electoral credibility depends on transparency and due process.
The ADC crisis is also seen as politically significant, with implications for coalition building and opposition alignment as parties begin early positioning for 2027.
Analysts warn that how INEC manages intra-party conflicts in the coming months could shape both political alliances and public trust in the electoral process.
