New York — MaryJoe Foundation participated in the Second International Migration Review Forum (IMRF 2026) at the United Nations, joining governments, international institutions, and civil society groups in discussions on global migration governance and migrant protection.
Representing the organisation, Paola M. Güell said the foundation used the platform to advocate migration systems built on human dignity, equity, and shared responsibility.
According to the foundation, its work across the United States and Nigeria has directly impacted more than 1,000 migrants through programmes focused on education, healthcare access, and economic support for vulnerable populations.
The organisation said particular attention is being directed toward women, children, and vulnerable migrant families who often face heightened social and economic risks.
At the forum, MaryJoe Foundation highlighted three major priorities:
Expanding access to basic services for migrants
Strengthening support for grassroots organisations
Improving collaboration between governments, institutions, and communities
The foundation also reaffirmed its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially:
SDG 4 — Quality Education
SDG 5 — Gender Equality
SDG 10 — Reduced Inequalities
The International Migration Review Forum serves as a global platform for assessing implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration and broader international migration commitments.
MaryJoe Foundation said it remains committed to supporting policies and programmes aimed at building migration systems that are inclusive, safe, and humane.
