NNPP PROMISES SURPRISE IN 2027 ELECTIONS, SAYS KWANKWASO

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has cautioned political rivals not to underestimate its influence ahead of the 2027 general elections. Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the party’s national leader, assured supporters that the NNPP is prepared to deliver unexpected results at the polls.

Kwankwaso made the remarks on Monday, January 6, 2026, while addressing party members at his residence on Miller Road, Kano. He emphasised that the NNPP is being underrated by those unfamiliar with Nigeria’s political dynamics.

“A lot of people who don’t understand politics are underrating us. Some are even calling us children. We will shock them at the polls with the outcome of the elections,” Kwankwaso said, urging members to remain focused and committed in the lead-up to the elections.

The NNPP has been positioning itself as a growing political force, particularly in northern states. Kwankwaso, a two-term former governor of Kano State, maintains influence in Kano and surrounding areas, leveraging established grassroots networks and party structures to expand the NNPP’s reach.

The party has attracted increasing attention amid a crowded field of contenders for the 2027 elections, prompting rivals to reassess its potential impact on election outcomes.

Supporters present at Kwankwaso’s residence expressed confidence in his leadership and the party’s strategy for the upcoming polls. Political analysts note that the NNPP’s ability to mobilize voters and field credible candidates could shape regional election dynamics, especially in northern Nigeria.

The NNPP is expected to continue consolidating its grassroots structures and public messaging in preparation for 2027. Observers will be monitoring the party’s campaign strategy, candidate nominations, and voter engagement efforts to assess its potential influence on the national political landscape.
